Touring Homes

Seeing Homes Firsthand

To get a real feel for the homes for sale in your preferred neighborhoods and price range, you need to get inside and walk through them. Touring homes helps you see firsthand the kinds of housing options that are available. Just seeing them in person helps you think through what you like or dislike about them. Walking through a wide range of homes helps you zero in on the size and style of home that works best for you. While it's possible you might find your dream home on the first day or two of your home search, it's unlikely to happen that fast. Because the best homes in our market go under contract quickly with multiple offers, this doesn't often happen.

How to Start Touring

Our goal during the first day or two of looking at homes with you is to give you a feel for the market at a richer level. This will give you some concrete things to think about and enable you to talk through things with us as we go through them. We recommend that you begin by selecting as many properties as possible that look promising, including homes that are available as well as homes that are under contract.

The Early Strategy

We’ll go through your selected properties together in several sessions. This means that we usually spend only about 10-15 minutes in each home during this initial phase in the home search. That’s usually enough to give you a feel for the range of options that are available to you. If you’re really interested in any of these homes, we will go back for a closer look. Walking though lots of homes helps you see firsthand the kinds of housing options that are available and think through what you like or dislike about them.
